In my 73' maverick i got the stock radiator, aluminum water pump and of lately i have had cooling issues with the car. Does anyone have any suggestion that would help me out??

i also am going to make a conversion to drag slicks, M/T 26.0/8.5-14, for this next week. any suggestions on tire pressure? i run low 13's and dip into the twelves rarely.

i run my drag slicks at 12 1/2 to 13. i ran the dot drag radials at 19. are you heating up at the track or on the street. 9i've also used sommmething like water wetter. vp's product is called "cool down". there's others in summit or jegs. a shroud helps on the street. at the track i have an electric fan and water pump. i can turn them on in the staging lanes and they cool down pretty quick.:)

Your stock rad may be plugged up,30 plus years will do that.try flushing it and see what happens.I just replaced mine after 34 years of service.Core tubes were so plugged that it would have had to be cut open to clean out the core tubes.Cost as much to just replace it.

'73, where are you in the Bay Area? I am in Santa Rosa. Are you running the car at Sears Point ? (Infineon for the newer racers) Scott

I also see you qualified for the Race of Champions, CONGRATS!
