Once upon a time my 72 v-8 mav had a 2bbl carb with a heat pipe off the exhaust manifold to heat the choke. No elec connection on it.Look for a rusty pipe end sticking out of the exhaust manifold. Its small, about 3/16" It will be on top of the manifold, close to the flange end of it.I have seen the 72 with electric chokes so it could go either way.Good luck.Hope this helps.
