I'm considering selling my Maverick and I'm not sure what to price it as. I know, gasp. Right? Why would I sell my beloved? Well, I don't have the funds to take care of it(fix it up) like I want to. Nor do I have the money to drive it. T.T Trust me, I've had plenty of nightmares over this.

Now that thats out of the way... I can't just say free to a good home cause umm... yeah.

Its a '76 Ford(duh) Maverick. 4 door. Redish Orange(I'm kinda sure its not the original color but I could be wrong). It is in need of a new paint job, it has a few tinks here and there. Theres a small amount of visible rusting around the fenders. The trunk is very rusted but I can have that fixed if I need to. The carpet(which im sure is orginal) needs replacing(but what 32 year old carpet doesn't?) The seats have all been reupholstered with with new leather(and the ceiling(do cars have ceilings?)) Its automatic. Straight6 engine. A/C works. It doesnt have its original radio or speakers, but they've been replaced with new ones and I'm going to give two extra 6 in. speakers with it($150 value). (I was going to make a speaker box for the extra speakers but I never got around to it) I'm not sure what else to say about it. Everything else is original on it. And as I said, I can't afford to drive it. It gets about 17 mpgs.

So what should I price the Maverick as? I bought it for $1500. And I wanted to sell it for $3000 but my father said I woulnd't get that much for it.

what you need to do is go to ebay or craigs list and see what the cars are going for that are comparable to yours. straight 6 engine is not going to raise the value, nor the 4 doors. i would think your dad's right about the $3k price. good luck.

The bumper isn't rusted out, its not like it chips off or ne thing, just has a few speckles around the edges.

i ment it had a rusty body, big bumpers, its a 4 door and a straight 6 under the hood.

all of which are very undesierable features for a maverick or comet.

I'm with newtoford on this one ... the only desirable feature you car has is ... uh well none really .. sorry ... if somebody were to offer you $1500 to break even I would take it and run ...

I'm going to have to agree also. Not trying to be mean (believe me, some of my cars are REAL gems... NOT ;) ), just the honest truth.
