my gas tank fix

well my gas tank was completley rusted and full of holes and could not be fixed and i could not find a replacement so i got a 12 gallon fuel cell and got creative.

still gonna paint the trunk so it dosent look so bad.

 

Are you going to run a neck out to the stock fill location, or just pop the trunk to fill 'er?

 

for now just pop the trunk.

 

I bet it wouldn't take much to recess it so it would be the same height as the stock tank. Then you could easily use the stock gas filler.

 

Where do you have the fuel cell vented, so that the gas doesn't hang in your trunk?

A friend of mine was going to buy a fuel cell for his daughters car. He researched and found out that the bladders inside only have a 2-3 year life.

Does this fuel cell have an internal fuel bladder?

 

Looks good! Don't forget to vent (as said) an run a ground wire to a bolt near the cap!

 

im told this tank will last a life time and every thing is setup just right now.

 

more than likely not......probably full of "sponges"
maybe monster will confirm.

 

Is there a vent to it? I am looking at putting a fuel cell in my car, but I am unsure how the venting works on them and where the best place to run it is.

 

it was full a sponges but i took them out to put in a fuell float as for venting i just ran it in to the filler neck and it looks and works great.

 

Dont forget to run a ground wire from them little nuts to frame!
