Gas Tank Restore

Had my tank cleaned and sealed inside at the radiator shop. I put por 15 on top and eastwood tank tone on bottom. I'm not sure if I like the tank tone, I think it looks like primer.

 

I think the Tank Tone looks pretty good.

I used a "hammer tone" type of paint.

 

Craig what brand paint is hammer tone?

 

Rust-O-Leum makes one called "Hammered".

Kilz also makes one called Hammerite Rust Cap

I don't recall which one I used.

 

Looks good to me Joe....gets better everytime I see.....

Hey ! Columbus, are those rear light housings chromed? How about another pic...
Also would like to know which fuel pump your using and where it's mounted, if elect.

 

Yes I had the light housing's chromed. I'll get a better picture later. Stock fuel pump.

 

Are you happy with the results?
I have been thinking about having several parts chromed like the tail lights and the sport mirrors, maybe even the grill. I also got a crazy idea the other night, the rear spoiler and end pieces...

 

I've seen the chrome work on Joe's car up close and it's sweet.
The bezels are a nice touch as is the chromed stock radiator shroud.
Truly a car that needs to be scene up close.

 

Are those tank straps painted red or are they something other than stock? They almost look like tie down straps in the pic, but I think it's just the pic.

 

I painted the tank straps red. I have painted a few pieces of the suspension red and gray just to get away from the all black underneath.

 

I am very happy with the chrome job I had done, maybe went a little overboard but it's addictive. I've thought about the mirrors also maybe next year.
