I just got a 78 Granada with a 250 that im in the process of swapping into my 1974 mav...I was just wondering if i could cut the granada coils and throw them in my mav...i cut my stock coils on my mav and I have a perfect stance with my 200, but with the 250 being about 50lbs heavier i'm sure im gonna start rubbing(i do already sometimes with the 200 in there)...let me know....thanks...if they dont fit, I think i have a few options lined up with some members on here...

    Cutting the springs? Hmmm...

You could also try the old-school method of lowering, heating the springs. I'm sure there are some tutorials online somewhere. Or maybe you could switch to regular 200 springs and start over?

P.S. when asking about sway bars, someone told me to check out Esco Springs and Things? Ever heard of them? Lots of Ford shops in Escondido. Also check "parts for sale" on craigslist, there's a Mustang shop always advertising there. Ever attend any shows/meets in SD?

You could try the Granada springs, but before you do, there are other things you can do to lighten the front end, namely relocating the battery to the trunk and swapping the big bumper for the small one. You'll transfer a lot of weight that way and can use the springs you have. For what it's worth, I don't think the extra 50 lbs of the 250 is going to make much difference.

u should get mustang springs, u can get them rated for the heavier engine, and cut those

then u can get the drop with a stiffer ride, so less rubbing

also heatin the coils is unsafe and a bad choice

talk to derek, he sold me my springs
