    Hey all,

    Im currently in Boone, North Carolina on vacation for a few days. Can anyone tell me are there any good salvage yards for Maverick/Comet parts, in or near this area. Or any other yards near I-95 on the way back from here to Florida. Please respond ASAP.

    Thanks

    I spent my college days in Boone. Too much snow and salt for there to be much of a salvage yard business in Boone. Try looking around Winston-Salem or Charlotte areas.

    Boone, NC was named after one of my great, great, great (not sure how many great's ago) grandpa's. I am a direct descendant of Daniel Boone on my dad's side of the family. And crazy enough, my mom's side of the family came from his brother. :hmmm:

    That said, I have never been there and have no idea of any junkyards in the area.

    Hey, thanks for the replies. I only noticed a few in the local phone book, appeared to deal in late model stuff. That being said if you will notice in my previous post. Are there any good yards in SC, TN, GA, FL. Near I-95. Thanks

    Try 109 U-Pull-it on the south side of Winston. http://www.109upullit.com/

    It has been a while since I was there but they change inventory over pretty quick. Might want to give them a call before you start off.

    There is a pretty good one in Germanton, NC. It's called White's Auto Salvage and Service Station I believe. They have hundreds of old cars, including at least 15 Mavericks and Comets.

    Hey, thanks for the info. Do you know if they have any good parts left on them or are they pretty much stripped?

    That is a long way from Boone!
    Like as far away from Boone as possible I'd wager.
    Boone=mountains.
    Germantown=beach.

    Mapquest shows 100 miles. I hope Ford Guy can respond to my question. I may possibly be able to go down there before I head back to FL. Wel have to see.

    Germanton is located in central North Carolina. Last time I was there was about a year or so ago, and I remember not being able to find a grabber hood, but I'm not sure what else there was. That was what I was looking for. I do remember they had just driven in a nice big bumper 4-Door when I was there.
