will this carb fit? i have a 302 that came stock in the car. i have no clue if this should fit..

I have listed this carb to the best of my knowledge. It is up to the buyer to examine the photos and the carburetor numbers i have provided to determine if this is the carb you need and can use before you bid.
This Carburetor was purchased 6 months ago and it was on a 1969 Mach 1 Boss 428. The carb was removed because the owner installed fuel injection on the Mach 1. This Carb was properly drained by removing the fuel line and letting the engine run until the carb was empty of all fuel. The Carb was purchased new and used just for a couple of short runs, it was removed and placed on a shelf 5 months ago and has been stored in the garage, it is still in great condition.
    1966 to 1978 Ford Mercury 289, 302, 351, 390, 428, 429, 460 engines (Incl. Police Special).

You will need a 4 barrel intake.

If that carb is on ebay...I imagine it will go high.

Looks like an Autolite 4300. Think I would hold out for a Holley or a Demon.

    Came off a 1969 Boss 428 :biglaugh:

looks like crap to me. Why would it go high on ebay (or was that just a joke:huh:)?

But, keep in mind, I don't consider myself a "carb connoisseur"

More like a 302 SCJ:rofl2:He would be better off with a good holley or demon. That old toilet is usually the first thing thrown out when you beef up a 428 SCJ oops I mean boss 428.

If you look close, you will see that carb is a spread bore.
They were common on 351c and 429 TJ/460 engines.
It won't work on a 302 intake unless you get one of the old odd ball Holley or Offy intakes with the spread bore plenum.
Ford did the spread bore with the Holley flange, unlike GM which used a unique bolt pattern for the Quadraflood.

If your just looking for a basic 4 barrel carb look for a Vacume Secondary single feed Holley

The Double pumpers cost more and not needed on a street engine
I'd offer to sell you my holley carb.
Its a dual feed vacume secondary but the choke is completey removed, horn and all

    what about this one??

"Up for Auction is an almost new Holley Avenger Carburator #8050B. This carb has very few miles on it. Went to Fuel Injection. Should make a good carb for someone!"

    That should work.
I don't know much about the avengers tho

But that carb is a good example of a vacume secondary single feed carb
