    I carged the battery untill it was full (it´s only a couple of weeks old) but still just the large click, where is the solenoid to be found?, and what to do if the starter has frozen?

    Many questions...:huh:

    One loud click is more than likely a starter. Several clicks is usually a low battery. Solenoid could be bad. Follow the positive battery cable from the battery to where it connects. That is the solenoid. The other large connection on that goes to the starter. Use jumper cables to jump both sides of the solenoid together. If the motor cranks you need a solenoid. If nothing happens except smoke from the jumper cables (get them off quick!!!) you need a starter. If you are real unlucky you'll end up needing both. Starters can be easy to rebuild if you can get the parts.

    If you hear just one loud click it could be that the solenoid is not making good contact (carbon build up from a low battery) or the pull-in coil is not pulling the pole in far enough to open the switch to run power to the starter field windings or you could have bad brushes or armature windings that are open. The contact adjustment is easy to do and the solenoid (inner fender) is very easy to replace. the rest can be repaired by rebuilding the starter or buying a rebuilt. I rebuild my own - and I wouldn't buy a rebuilt unit from anybody else. If I have to buy a starter, I buy a new one.

    I´m getting a new solenoid and a new regulator from a friend in the USA, hopefully this will do the trick, I´m getting really tired if never driving this beauty of mine, if you have had the chance of following my threads here on the forum you´ll see that I have only had troubles over and over again, but then again I have had so much help from you and the other guys/gals so I really starting to take a like in trying to do much of the work myself, but at the same time this is really my first car, so that´s maybe why I´m asking all of this strange questions..

    Hopefully I don´t need to buy a new starter, I´m going to try the "power drop test" that you teached me in one of my old threads, just to see where the trouble is...
    In sweden I can´t get my hands on anything so I have to order everything from the smallest gasket to a new starter from you guys (the USA), that´s starting to get really expensive, but at the same time I´m really glad to have such a beautiful car...
