Well guys after mass amounts of searches and lots of reading ads and such my dad finally got him a Comet. The funny part is that it ended up being Tom Butas from the board. My dad called me while he was up there and told me how good the car looked and what a good job Tom did on restoring it. I'll be going down tomorrow (2 hours away) to see it and visit and I'll get some pics and post them here. Now I continue my search for a cheap beater/roller that I can buy cheap and cheaply drive around for cheap. Thanks to everyone that helped us in looking for a Comet and the continued help in finding me a Mav (scooper77515). Scott look for a PM. Anyways I'm very excited and all day today I was sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear the word on the car. It's been a year long search for my dad that finally ended today! BTW...Thank You Tom! He gave my dad a great deal on a nice Comet.
finally got ya one huh? great news. i was really starting to feel for ya there. mak sure you get some pics up ASAP
Well I guess I have one by proxy...lol My dad actually bought it. Both he and I have been looking for one for about a year and a half (since last June). Now since he bought a Comet I figure that my focus is now on a Maverick. That way we can have one of each. My problem lately has been the bad things happening to my Maxima requiring me to spend all the money I had been saving for a Mav but I'm not dwelling on that today because I'm so happy he was able to get one. He had a 72 Bearcat Comet GT (as far as we can tell) and he always regretted getting rid of it. Shortly after he sold it the guy totalled it. Last June I was going to try and get him one for fathers day so we could take the time and fix it up. So since June it's been a mad search to find one that was close enough to us here in Louisiana. Tom and I have been talking for a while and once I saw the pictures I told my dad he needed to scoop this one up. I can't wait to see it.
"Good things come to those who wait." And that one looks to be very good thing. 'Congrats to you and your Dad.
