Hello. I bought a 74 instrument cluster for my 76 maverick. Can anyone give me any tips on how to put it on. I took off the gas part( It crumbled in my hands). But i cant take off the speedometer? Do i need pro help or is this pretty simple?
In the new intrument cluster it just seems to have a metal piece looking thing in the back and nothing to hook up. Is it just that piece that inserts or what? into What? Please help?

why dont you just swap out the whole cluster as 1 piece? then you just have to plug in the speedo cable and the electrical connction

    hi

What do you mean? i am trying to change the entire cluster. i bought the chole thing as one unit and all it has in the back is the piece of metal that sticks out from the back of the speed cluster. I also dont find the connection thing that u speak of. I only see the metal and nothing else to connect cables to. Thats why i was asking what do i do. Also does the speedo snap of or do i have to unscrew it?

i mean change out the whole cluster as one piece, dont try to swap each gauge individually into your dash.

It snaps on (clicking sound), and it comes of fairly easy, dissconnect it by pressing on the flat surface of the plastic connector(white thing) and pulling the speedometer cable away from the head(the metal thing) ( I´m talking from a Comet -74 point of view here, but I hope it´s the same)

    Good Luck!:drive:
