How cool. The pics have been floating around forever, but I never imagined the car was still around and in good shape. It is almost a shame to see it cut up. I did say almost. :D

I always wondered what happened to that car. Hated the paint but loved the conversion. If its done by July, bring it down to the Roundup in Washing DC.

I would have thought that car was gone. I could see me cruisen around in that the way it was, but I like that 70,s kinda stuff. At least its still around. As for the flashlight drags, I came out there once and raced my stang its a very fun show.

    WOW!

This has become my most favoritestest thread of late.

How cool that this 'thing' reared it's head. I figured it had gone to the crusher years ago.

I think it's GREAT that it's still around and even greater that it's being "improved" on (tubbing)!

I hope, for the sake of it's nostalgic value, that the same paint scheme is used if it is to be repainted. But, can certainly understand if the paint scheme is changed. lol

I was wondering, does a 69 1/2 have a vin.starting with 0 like a 70?The jamb sticker is not on the car to get date code. Heres a couple more pics.As a lot of guys do to Falcons,Mustangs and Mavericks,I slice floor 11" and 13" over from inside rocker box, then slice open the unibody "subframe"rails, and take the bottom out all the way up to the seam at trans. crossmember then you can press a piece of 2x2 1/8 wall box into rail and floor slot, then weld to 4 link or ladderbar crossmember,on leaf car I"ll run a tube between rear spring boxes and tie together there(good place for driveshaft hoop) Now it's tied together to help flex.

I too am glad to know it's still around. I've looked at those old pics many times and wondered how I'd do it if I had the chance. It's kind of like watching a train wreck, you just can't help but stare. As ugly as it is, I'm sorry to see it changed. It's kind of a shame for it to survive all these years only to be totally changed now. I agree with you Rick, it does have some nostalgic value as it is.
