If all you need out is the instrument panel, there are two screws holding it in at the top, one in each gauge pod. Then you'll need to reach underneath the dash and disconnect the speedometer cable from the back of the speedo. The instrument panel should then tip forward (if you have column shift, this will be a bit easier if you move the shift lever down away from the park position). Then you should be able to reach in and disconnect the wiring harness connector that runs the rest of the gauges. That's it. Good luck.

to actually get the speedo cable off, somply pull the gauge cluster forward and take notice to where the speedo cable connects to the cluster. notice the white peice of plastic at the connection.... on one side of that peice of plastic you'll notice a 'tab' or place to push it in (it sticks up slightly so it's easy to notice). simply press that in and pull the cable away from the cluster. it sounds like alot but it's really simple. good luck :)

Have a look at my "dash pad removal" article in the Tech Articles section of this site. It has step by step instructions and pictures that deal with disconnecting the speedometer cable.
