I went yesterday to see these cars. The yellow Maverick has a good interior except the drivers's side bench is torn. It has two good doors and all good glass. One good front fender. The Comet was interesting. It has a real straight body except for a little bow in the rear area from the bumper indention. It had no grill. front bumper OK but not perfect. Very little rust on the car. Right rear wheel well had rust and the hood had rust in the usual hood lip places. Very straight hood and repairable IMO. The interior was absolutlely shot. no front glass and the weather has taken its toll on the inside. I offered $300 for both cars and he declined. I am fairly certain he will take $400 for both cars. The interior could be swapped from the Mav to the Comet, but it looked like a lot of work. From the pics on the link what is you all's opinion. I was excited about going to look at them and making them # 3 and #4 but I was not as excited when I looked at them. Perhaps it is because the interior was so bad on the Comet. I had a hard time looking beyond that.

I'd give $400 for them without thinking twice about it if that Comet is really in as good of shape as it appears. I'd need to see underneath the car and under the carpet to make that determination though. You could sell a few parts off the Maverick, use what you need on the Comet, then scrap the Maverick and get alot of your money back.

I would definately give 400.I've paid that for one car with less parts that these have. And i'd say the Comet is a fixer with a mav parts car.

For $400 it is definately not even a consideration. If you decide not to jump on them I might so let me know. I won't bid unless you say you aren't because you found them first and I'm too nice of a guy...LOL Looks like a great deal for $400. Go get em! :Handshake

If you've got the room to store em, and the time to work em, $400.00 is a Great price for both. IMO(y)

Hey guys. I got the two cars for $300 not the $400 I was willing to pay. I am going to pick them up Saturday. All you Houston folks who may need some parts I will have extra. I may have to invite some of you over and have a Maverick strip down party to salvage all the usable parts from the yellow Mav before I send it to the crusher. I do not want it here long. I will restore the Comet eventually after I am done with the 4 door resto.
