    1973 Maverick
I just recently inherited a 1973 Maverick from my Father. He passed away this past sunday after a long battle from complications of diabetes. He inherited the car from my Grandfather after he passed away in 1985.

My Granfather purchaced the car new in 1972 and it has been in my family ever since.

My Father began the restoration/modification in 1990 and completed it in 2000. The car began as a 6 cyl auto with drum brakes and now has a 351W with a 4 speed, disk front brakes and a 9" rear end.

    (sorry, no photos yet)

The car still needs some work (headers?!?!?...oh boy, what am I getting into?!) and of course could use some further "horsepower upgrades".

I look forward to learning from all of your experience and knowledge of this fine automobile!

Very likely...all new cars usually are on the lots around October (sometimes earlier) of the prior year. I've been driving a 2008 Tacoma for almost two months. The first 1965 Mustang was sold in April of 1964. :)

Ford begins model year production early. A car produced in 8/72 would be a 73 model and can be purchased in 72.
