I just recently inherited a 1973 Maverick from my Father. He passed away this past sunday after a long battle from complications of diabetes. He inherited the car from my Grandfather after he passed away in 1985. My Granfather purchaced the car new in 1972 and it has been in my family ever since. My Father began the restoration/modification in 1990 and completed it in 2000. The car began as a 6 cyl auto with drum brakes and now has a 351W with a 4 speed, disk front brakes and a 9" rear end. (sorry, no photos yet) The car still needs some work (headers?!?!?...oh boy, what am I getting into?!) and of course could use some further "horsepower upgrades". I look forward to learning from all of your experience and knowledge of this fine automobile!
Welcome aboard! :Handshake Very sorry to hear about the loss of your father though. Anyway, you've come to the right place. I'm sure you've figured out by now that we love our Mavericks/Comets here. If there is anything we can help with, don't hesitate to ask.
ive seen a maverick with a 351w and headers an no modifications to the shock towers to make it fit but you'll definatly want to look into geting the towers noched for a little extra clearence
sorry to hear about your loss. cherish the maverick. it will always be a link between you and your dad. welcome to the board.
You need to take the short drive up north of Muncie and come see me. I can show you the headers on my car. Welcome aboard.
Welcome to the board. I'm very sorry to hear of your father's passing. He and you Grandfather have left you a very special gift. You have definitely come to the right place for anything Maverick related.
Very likely...all new cars usually are on the lots around October (sometimes earlier) of the prior year. I've been driving a 2008 Tacoma for almost two months. The first 1965 Mustang was sold in April of 1964.
Hello!!!! New cars come out around Sept & Oct of the year before.....JK Anyway, to the board....Can't wait for pics....
Ford begins model year production early. A car produced in 8/72 would be a 73 model and can be purchased in 72.
