Geez Rick, guess they don't like your car on that site... http://www.ottawadrags.com/showthread.php?p=27236#post27236 (Shock towers look great by the way!)
Rick, coming from another chassis builder,Nice Work, unless you do this kind of work people just don't understand how much work and thinking go into it.Jack
They didn't like the truck too much...lol, that site is full of haters though..lol Thanks for the compliments all, should go low 11's in the spring! Richard
I have Three questions... What is the distance of the area marked in yellow? Did you heat and bend the area marked in Red or is it welded on the back side? Are you going to use Crites headers?
3" is the distance and yes to heat and bend and weld, sand and grind then paint! As for headers Hedman 88300 dimpled to fit the Windsor jr untill I find something better to use.
Nice to see the ladder bar brackets going ALL THE WAY AROUND the axle. I have never seen the brackets fail when designed like this. Cleaver
Just curious, Did Len sell his car and did you consider buying it, instead of doing the work on your car?
I don't think Len has sold it yet! I did look and the cost was a factor, I have owned mine since 1978 so I know my car inside out. The fact of doing my own is very rewarding to me, being a local racer I don't want people to say "there's the guy who bought Len's car"! Don't get me wrong here Len's car is awesome and worth every penny! Richard
What started as a minitub job is turning out to be the full tubs! The outer wheelwells were to soft to use so we do the full job! More pics soon!
What shock & spring rates did you choose for your rear coil overs? I'm only running on the street but have yet to choose my rates.
Competition Engineering shock kit CEE-2051 with springs CEE-2565 150lbs/in rate! Remember this is a track only car...hook and go! Richard
