It was brought to my attention that the fuel sending unit or (Float assembly) is not being made for the Maverick/Comet from 74 to 77,,?

I thought the Tank was still being made for this year along with the Float assembly,,,?

If its not,,,, How many need this,,?

    Thank you

One here. I know the '76-'77 years are not reproduced.

I have been in contact with Auto Krafters about having this part and I have sent them a sample.

The last time I talked to them about it (within the last month) they were still looking into it.

As long as they have been "looking into it" it might not be a bad idea for you to do it Joe. :D

When I was having difficulty clearing out all of the junk out of my fuel sending unit, (which had a float on it). I figured I'd check at the local O'Reilly's. They didn't have a unit in my 75' Maverick year model or any other maverick for that matter, so I asked them to bring out a book that had each assembly's pictures. Luckily they had one. I just looked up Ford vehicle parts and matched up my old one with one that looked similar to it, if not exact. I believe it was from a mustang around the same year range if not then a tad bit older. But, I didn't buy it because I managed to get the junk cleaned out of it anyways that night.

If I am not mistaken the really goofy part about this whole fuel sinding unit/gas tank issue is that there are sending units out there for the 71-73 tanks, but the tanks that are available fit the 74 - 77 Mavericks and Comets.

So the tank for 74-77 are available with no sending unit and the sending unit for 71-73 are available but you can't get the tank.

    Go Figure. :hmmm:
