Not running FFW now, running PSCA in the west. Just won the The Edelbrock World Finals, 18 car field, went five rounds with a best of 8.38 at 162 mph. Still all motor small block. Dan
The car was red with black vinyl top, black interior. It was a GT with a 302 Windsor and a three speed. Ran the car for 18 months, did five stories for Hot Cars Magazine, Ford gave me a Boss 302, Borg Warner a Super T-10 and I changed out the 8 inch rearend for a 9 inch. When I finished running the car we put it back to stock, returned to the dealer that owned the car and it was no longer used for racing. I should have purchased the car myself but I decided to build a Pinto Pro Stock car instead. I really had a great time running that car, put well over 300 runs on the it, won D Modified Production at the NHRA Winternationals. I still have some of the magazine stories and more photos, once I get them together I will post them on our website and post the link here. Later, Dan Bott Sr.
Wow...I wonder if the car might have survived all these years. It would be neat to find out who bought it and if it is still around. I guess it would be possible that if it is, the present owner may not even know the history.
Boss Comet I hope to see the pics from the article soon. That would be cool. I spoke with Joe Spinelli from PA today. He is restoring a Maverick that was a Boss 302 powered drag car back in the mid/late 70's. He was curious to hear about your car and story. Attached are pics of his car. Seth
hopefully we'll get to see you at some of the psca races this year. was at there sight last week looking to see if next years schedule was out yet. would like to see a few races at firebird or tucson. not sure what the deal was at speedworld.
Joe's car was the SS&DI drag Maverick? I remember some old articles of that car... SS&DI and M/P went together like peanut butter and jelly....
