Last step to pull motor from yesterday

    Thanks for all your great advice. I have a C4 and thought I was on the last step of removing torque converter, as I glanced below the drivers side floor underneath there are some bars attached to the transmission and bolt on a pin in front of the torque converter on the engine side of the converter. I assume this has to be removed? Then I think I am on the final step. Waiting for my neighbor to come home from his long T-Day vacation to help me with the TC. He has worked on several 302's over the years.

    Are there only 6 bolts on the bell housing? Thats what I got off and all I could see.

    Yes 6 bellhousing bolts. I am not sure of what you are refering to in your other question. Could you explain a little more what you are seeing?

    if you're talking about the shifting linkage, then yes it has to come off. not sure what the bolt is?

    Me thinking he is talking about the converter drain plug, if so, no it doesn't have to be pulled,, you can drain it now an save a mess later! Drain same as oil pan.
