Does anyone know the weight savings here. I can weigh my gas tank but dont know what a 16 gal fuel cell might weigh?

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

the thin steel the tank is made out of doesnt weigh that much to begin with. the gas tho is about 8lbs a gallon i believe.

Till you brace, attach your fuel cell, I don't think you will save any weight. Depending on your needs, you can save weight with a smaller cell. Of course on the gas tank you don't have to fill it up either!

i always thought the full cell was a saftey feature, not necessarly intended for weight savings

Maybe so, but thats not my question.

Im trying to determine if there is a significant enough weight savings by going to a fuel cell vs the stock tank.

If someone can tell me what a 12-16 gal fuel cell weights i can draw my own conclusions.

    Thanks for the replies.

I think I remember losing 4 lbs going from the stock tank to a 8 gallon cell. By the time you figure in the mounting brackets, pump, lines and fasteners, the weight difference isn't all that significant. BUT....2 lbs lost here, 4 lbs there....it all adds up!
