    It's been so long since I took my car apart, I've completely forgot what this bracket is with the square hole in it. It's just above the top door hinge on both sides. :huh:

    Yep......fender bolts to it. Similar bracket inside the front fender.

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    On the inside of your fender there is a bolt hole with a u-nut. You should have a 5/16th bolt with a large washer that goes thru that bracket into the fender.

    you will need a clip on nutplate and put into the hole with the nut facing the front of the car, then the screw goes in from the door jam into the fender and then into the nutplate
