    Nice car!!

    Speak for yourself...

Yes... though I would keep the Comet front end on it, but that's just me...

The only reason my car has a Mav front end is because I lucked into the Mav parts when I was building the car that were in better shape than the original Comet parts. I'm actually planning on changing back to a Comet front end, but I'm having trouble locating a good hood and bumper. Bought a nice grille from a guy on this board last year. I'd be willing to trade if anyone wants to do a swap.

I did mine several years ago the hard way (before the kits were available) using all Ford parts off of various cars. You have to plumb a return line to the fuel tank and you have to patch into the car's wire harness for power and such.

My advice would be to buy an entire donor car, so that you have the comple wire harness, sensors, etc., and swap everything over. Also essential is a wiring diagram of your Maverick, AND a wiring diagram of the donor car.

There are several of us on this board who have done this swap, and who can add to my comments. Depending on your skill level, it can be an ambitious project, but well worth your effort in terms of ease of drivability and there is a certain "wow" factor as well. If you're serious about doing it, I'd be happy to go into more detail either in PM or email.

i got really lucky the motor and trans wiring harness and computor came out of the same car.
one problem was as i said earler the trans mount gave me the most problems.
i also put long tub headers on but i had to pull motor out because the headers would not go in after i allready was done mounting it.
when i put the msd fuel pump on the car it would idle but as soon as you gave it gas it fell on its ass.
problem was the return line was not big enough.
at first i had to much fuel pressure bigger hole in return line fixed this
hope this helps a little .

Good stuff and nice cars, This is what I have in mind in the near future. I have a 91 t-bird with a 5.0 HO and AOD just sitting... Now I just need more time to work on the Maverick...
