http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...contentQ3acontentQ7dQQfviZ1&item=320193844767 Short of buying and trying, is there any way to know if this will fit my 1975 Mav?
Correct me if I am wrong. I have never owned older than 73' If it does not fit you would just need to change the filler neck.
that looks just like the one on my friend's '72 so if thats the case it probably wont work the one on my '76 says MAVERICK across the middle but aside from the delux cap that one would be my favorite? pull off your cap, how many ears are on it?
Why would it not work? Should be interchangable between any and all Mavs. I have a 78 Granada cap on my 72. It sticks off the rear panel about 1/4" further than a Mav cap. I believe the Granada had a trim panel on back that it had to clear.
Too much for that cap, sabrina. It's faded really bad, the area behind the bull's head should be black. I bought one just like that but not quite as faded for $5 off of eBay, just be patient and you will find a nicer one at a good price.
i have an old faded one with the maverick script i would be willing to donate to ur car if ur in need of one. and yes, all caps interchange between all years and models. the only difference between caps is vented and non-vented
All caps should physically fit all years, however the later model filler necks have the slots in a slightly different spot, so when aligning the tabs on an earlier model cap, the emblem will not be oriented properly. Doesn't cause a problem functionally, just looks wierd.
thats what i always thought and what quite a few other people told sabrina the other day when she was talking about getting rid of her locking set up
