I had my old roommate call me the other day, and he asked me if I still had that "old grandma car." I laughed at him saying, "my maverick!" Funny, I wonder how many people think of mavericks as grandma cars?
Both my Grabbers were bought new by ladies, and I know at least one was a Grandma, because I bought the car from her grandson
Anything can be a grandma car.I know where there's a '71 442 Cutlass owned by a granny, and no she won't sell it.But it does stay covered up and when it's driven(by her)she's usually wearing her Olds 442 t-shirt.Hotrod granny!
yes i know what you mean.. its worse when ur in highschool.. i guess mine is a grandmas car cause thats who i got mine from..
I hear she's gonna get a ticket sooner or later... Everybody thought mine was a Mustang... except for a few teachers who knew what it was, one of which loved it and asked me about once a week when I was going to sell it to him. Mavericks were granny cars... my '74 Grabber wasn't originally owned by a little lady, it was bought new for a guy for his high school graduation present, but the second owner who bought it in '76 was literally a grandma... and the third owner was her grandson. My '73 4 door belonged to an old lady also, she bought it new in '73 and used it to deliver mail for years, racking up 316,000 miles.
My 71 was bought from a Grandma, I still have the original title issued to her in 1971. One owner 36 K miles.
my 72 was from a 96 year old GREAT grandmother...and it had this funny looking liscence plate that sais "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY GRANDCHILDREN"....i kept in on for a while but then i took it off...still have it though it had 58K and the inspection sticker was from 98
My cousin told me the other day how much she hated her first car which was our grandparents blue 72 2 door mav ( she said it was embarrassing to be seen driving ) Grandad allways kept the car spotless and under roof. I still have the car they bought to replace that one, the Pontiac 6000.
Got mine from the original owner (302 car). She was an 84 year old Grandma (in 1999). The car was rust free, she kept it garaged. The interior is still original, except for the Granada console. Gotta love the Grandma's.....
try driving a 4 door. i haven't heard a story yet that didn't start with "my aunt, or my grandma, or my mom had one of these. and to most of the general public they were grandma cars. i bought mine from the estate of the original owner who drove the car up until her death. family said she refused to get rid of it.
There was a little old lady who lived few blocks from me that drove a big bumpered Maverick for years. She was at least 90 years old the last time I saw her driving the car. To be honest, she wasn't so much driving the car as she was weaving the car....weaving from one side of the road to the other. To quote Steve Irwin " Danger, danger, danger!" She and the car are both gone now. I have no idea what became of her and the Maverick has vanished.
