Welcome!... 'course I'm a newbie too... got my Comet 4 days ago and all I have been able to do so far is sit in the carport at night and look at it... haven't even washed mine properly yet... but I've fallen in love with mine too.

PS... I think every one here rambles... it's allowed...

    Ciao!

Yeah, I know how you feel. I've had my mav about 3 months maybe, then the snow blew in and the salt hit the roads, so I'm in the staring and dreaming stage for awhile. At least I've got some time free now to work on the stereo and do some interior repair. as for falling in love, it doesn't take long, does it? these cars are pretty darn charming!

I *FINALLY* got to go through the car today - what a horrible week - from Monday it's been dark every day when I get home (I washed it in pitch black on Wednesday night - what the hell... it was dirty...) and spent all day today cut-polishing in the rain (it helps wash away the oxidized paint)... neighbour came over... said the car has beautiful lines - charming says it right... I love that 35-year-old-car-smell and the stark simplicity of the entire car... I have spent the week sitting inside it trying to figure out where the hell the gauges and stereo are going to go and my interior is mint so I don't want to cut to mount speakers...

What's your plan for tunes?... is there an aftermarket box or pod from Mavericks or later cars to mount a stereo?...

well... my numb fingers and feet have thawed out... the snow is well behind us (I'm on a mountain) so I need to find my work lamps and get that 3rd layer of cut polish on...

    Ciao!

They do have a masterful streamlined simplicity, huh? As far as the stereo I'm planning on putting in a a beefy cassette/cd/mp3 encoded cd head unit with a changer in the trunk on top of that. And if you mean a pod or something for the dash, I'm going to take out the bezel and put in one of those plastic "boot" things they make for trucks that should fit the hole and make it so the cd player sits on top and there's a small like kind of change tray section underneath. I'm planning to put new bigger speakers in the back,(My package tray is thrashed, anyway so I'm going to put the speakers in when I replace it.) but I haven't picked how much boom I want yet so I'm not sure exactly what I'll get. After having my time taken up by Christmas shopping last weekend at sprawlmart I should be able to get some components this weekend hopefully.

This is Mountaintop between Wilkes-Barre & Hazleton. There is another one down south Pa. too. Which one are you thinking of?
