I finally got my new 347 in and went out and tested it on sunday. The motor runs real stong to just pass the 1/8 mile (6.75 et) but it is out of gear at ( 8000 RPM ). The I have pull the 488 and am get 433 today. The goal is to keep is under 7000 RPM and run some were in the high 10's.

so it maxes out at 68 mph at 8000rpm? Wow, that is a really steep gear...

I would keep that gear just to keep it coming off the line like that. At city intersections:D

The et finals have been moved to the last week in sept. That's the same weekend as the "run to the pines" car show in pinetop. I think that's where I'll be. Next years (2009) et finals will be at firebird. I'm not planning on racing in Tucson this year either. Good luck.:)

11.98 at 68mph...? I assume you backed out and coasted thru at that speed since you were out of gear. If that was your TOP speed, it would take longer than 11.98 sec to run the quarter. Just trying to get the facts. NICE awsome launch though. Must be a real rush!
