Welcome to the board ! I`m the guy who told you about this site at the Atlanta Dragway. I also posted the pics I took of your car that day here. :Handshake http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=37070
thanks! it has a 331 and a c-4. edelbrock heads, victor jr. intake, 1 5/8 headers with 3" x-pipe through 2 chamber flowmasters. 9" inch rear with 488's and slapper bars. runs in the 10.70 range at 122 mph. i have had a best 60' of 1.36. i'm guessing a little over 400 hp to the rear wheels maybe. i run a footbrake style class and its all motor at 2900 lbs. with me in it. i change to 543 gears in the fall to run 1/8 mile and it will clear the 60' marker on a good cold day. and yes those bumpers were chromed steel i painted them orange
right now it has comp engineering 90/10's up front and carquest specials on the rear with comp engineering traction bars everything else is stock. i plan on aerospace brakes and qa1 adjustable shocks all the way around. maybe a few adjustments in the front like a bump steer kit, roller bearing spring perches, and lower the upper control arm. i hate to change much because it is very consistent now.
Maverick8003 - What are the specs of your Mav including the engine and tranny? I want to do my car the same way. I like the way those front tiers jump off the ground at the green light.
See what you've done. I do have to agree here with alot of what i am seeing. People are real interested in you setup. If it would not be too much trouble, we would all love to see more info regarding your motor setup, trans, suspension & rear end setup, and wheel/tire specs. Seems like a lot of guys experience rubbing so any time someone has a sweet combo that works, pass on the info. Again... sweet ass ride!!
the engine is a 331 with 4340 eagle crank, eagle h beams, ross pistons, 10.35 to 1 compression, comp solid roller, edelbrock victor jr heads and intake, no port work, holley hp 750. hooker comp. 1 5/8 headers, 3" x-pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters. performance automatic c-4 trans with ati converter, 9" rear cut to 49 or 50 inches(cant remember) 488 gears(1/4 mile), moser axles and spool. wheels are Bogart force 5's. 15x8 on rear with 3 1/2" backspacing. mt 28x9 tires, fronts are 15x3 1/2. i use comp engineering traction bars(j bolt design for mustang). 90/10 's up front and carquest shocks in rear. i scaled the car to even up corner weights and to preload the traction bars. i also run a lot of pinion angle(alot!) car with driver 2885 lbs. (no fuel) last time out i ran 10.81@121 at a race weight of 3200 lbs.
