88 5.0 engine, 74 C4 tranny, I have to put the 50oz flexplate on there. Do I install it so the weight is lined up with the heavy side of the dampner?

I ask because the stock flexplate could only be installed one way, so the big hole lined up with the converter drain plug. My new one has 3 big holes (the 4th is under the 50 oz weight).

Should I match the new one to the old one and make sure the weights and the same hole lines up with the drain plug?

the bolt holes on the flexplate should only line up one way on the crank

    DUH!!!

    You are 100% correct, sir:bowdown:

I took it out of the box, and it has been in my office ever since. It just appeared that the holes were evenly spaced out...But you are right. They are all off by a degree or two and the holes only line up if you spin it around until they line up.:slap:

The assembled block, heads, and intake are out in the garage. All the other parts including starter, pushrods, flexwheel, etc are all in my office in a clean and secure environment. Just so they don't "walk off" before I get a chance to install them.
