I was driving home the other night and got on my Maverick pretty hard, got a little side ways in the road, when I snatched her back straight the battery fell out into the fan. So I need a new battery, fan, and radiator. The motor was soaked in battery acid. I should have checked the battery tray a little closer,it was all rusted, I guess the battery was just sitting there. This is gonna be an expensive lesson
My battery just rolls around in the trunk...one of the reasons I haven't had it to the track in a year. They won't let me pass tech with it flopping around back there.
Add a big box of baking soda to a bucket of water and scrub everything down. The baking soda will help neutralize any acid. Cleaver
When I got it home the first thing I did was put baking soda all over the engine compartment, maybe it will be ok. Got it back on the road today, but the new fan I put on sure is close to the top radiator hose. The fan does rub the hose just a little when I rev the engine.
Get a smaller fan,it will cut the hose eventually.Been there,or pul the hose out of the way and secure it somehow.
Perhaps leaving the hose a bit long on the motor side will make it sit a bit higher out of reach of the fan?
Yeah I have got to figure something out. I got the same size fan that came off of it. I was wondering if maybe the new radiator, maybe sitting a little lower than the other. Think I better get the ole measuring stick out and see whats going on.
