Over the weekend, my buddy and I went to the Chicago Auto Show, which was awesome! Saturday we ventured over to Milwaukee and along the way, we stopped at several (lost count) Walgreens and Wal-Marts looking for Motor Max Stallions. I found a black & sliver one (and only one!) at a Wal-Mart near Milwaukee (the "Fresh Cherries version). I was pumped! Then I found three at a Walgreens (these were the "American Graffitti series"), but only in "red & black". I bought one, but I'm really looking for the silver and black ones (I want to get one for each of my kids) as that was the color combination of my first car. I stopped at several more Walgreens and found more of the American Graffitti series, but only in the black and red. I started thinking, maybe the American Graffitti "Stallion" series are only available in the red version? If so, I'll stop waisting my time looking at Walgreens and I'll focus on Wal-Mart. Does anybody know if the American Graffitti "Stallion" models are only offered in red? Also, does anyone know of another chain of stores that are handling these models? Thanks!
I check every week at my wal-mart and find nothing but Vega.... saw the truck and the trailer but it had a Corvette and a thunderbird....but no Stallion
On the MotorMax Stallion I bought the box says they could be bought with a 4-speed???? Is that true? I thought it was automatic or 3-speed onlys for Mavericks?
They've got a lot of the "facts" messed up. The one I got at Walgreens says "1974 Stallion", and they were only produced in 1976. As far as the "set", I've not seen it either, but another member posted a thread and that photo with the trailer and ford pickup. Now that would be very cool to find that!
I got 2 of the fresh cherry black and red Stallions yesterday. I keep looking for the one on a trailer. If i remember right it was found in Canada.
I do have one of the black and silver AG Stallions. I also have two of the red and black ones. All from Wal-Greens.
Well, my preference will be the Fresh Cherries from Wal-Mart, as I'm not thrilled with the "AG" sticker on both sides of the car. But, I'll take whatever I can find! I did notice in a couple of stores who had several available, that the quality control isn't very strong coming out of the Motor Max factory. You really have to look them over, as you'll find some pretty major flaws in the paint jobs. The funny thing is, as I looked them over and picked the "best" from the lot, you can only see one side, so the one I ended up with may have a flaw on the hidden side of the car! Oh well, it's not like these are Danbury or Franklin Mint die cast models (which run well over a hundred dollars), at ten bucks each what can you expect.... Good luck to everyone who's looking for these. If anyone comes across the "truck/trailer/stallion kit", let the rest of know where you got it from. Thanks! Art
I'm not crazy about the AG stickers either...just taking what I can get. I think I may check and see if I can get the stickers off without doing any harm.
Sorry for the necro post, but I found a Motor Max black and silver stallion model in Seaside OR. Next to it was a yellow 74 that was an almost exact replica of my car (except for the color and it had a floor shifter instead of column shift like mine) and I couldn't pass that up.
