Well whoever was beating your chops about the car being a 70 is wrong... The "1" in front of the VIN proves it's a 71 model.
No busting chops, hes right the dmv had the info wrong on the papers the car was assembled in late 70 but is actually a 71 . heres my interest, The majority says there were almost no 6 banggers ordered in 71 for the GT package but I contest that and ask what were the production numbers and etc? The year was never of much interest to me but I would like to know (with data support) how many 71-etc comet gt cars were ordered with a 200cid engine
What majority? Plenty of 71 comets with 6 cylinders out there. imo, what you need is to determine if you have a real GT. If it really is, you will want this documented somehow before you sell.
