New to the forum, but not to the MAV. Now that I've done that husband and father thing, it is time to take care of me. I want to be a motor head again, so I went out and bought me a 2008 SKY. Why is this important to all you Ford and MAV folks, it's not, but to me getting the SKY, and keeping it forever is what I wanted to do with my 1977 Ford Maverick, but I did something stupid when I was young, I totaled it, never getting to see my dream come true, to keep my first car forever. So, I'm going to enjoy the forum and reunite myself with my past by taking in all the interesting chater on the forum, and of couse, I'm looking, for that 77, 3 on the tree, straight six, candy blue (in 82 I stripped it, 3 coats of candy blue and 4 coats of clear) and I always wanted to pop a 302 in it. Much like I enjoy all the great folks on the Sky Roadster forum, I'm sure its the same over here, be nice, again, newbie to the search, but not to the love of the Ford Maverick.
welcome abord i actually like the sky so you dont have to worry about any negative feelings from me they actually build thos and the solstice about 10 mins down the road from me and ironically in the neighborhood behind the GM plant there is a '77 maverick rusting away in a drive way
I think the sky is cool, and encouraged the wife to buy one...and told her she could have anything, as long as it wasn't a black, convertible, Ford. She ended up getting a 2005 Black Mustang Convertible...
I can surely relate to the husband father thing. I bought a 2005 Mustang GT that I loved. But had to sell it this past year. Now I have a 71 Mav that will someday be a mean and nasty street killer. It will have to have at least 600 rwhp. Great to be a motor head again and WELCOME!
Next year I am getting out from under the Child support payments I have been making since 1996.. My Gift to Me.... A Mustang GT... Always wanted one, and that's my reward for faithfully supporting my kids, and making sure the Divorce affected them as little as possible... I hear you brother at the right time you just gotta say this is for me... My 2nd wife seems supportive of this so hopefully the '06 focus will be traded on a low mileage Mustang GT, My Focus is screeming Yellow but I think I want the grabber orange on the late model 'Stang GT's.
theres a guy in our ford club who probably has your dream stang halebob. probably my favorite looking stang in the whole club. the hood is aftermarket tho
Sweet Nice Comet Joe... how did you find one so clean, how long and any tips. You do all the mod and resto work yourself?
