Hello everyone, We have a 1970 Maverick 2dr ht. It came competion orange and black with a black split bench front seat interior. It came with a 200 cu in I-6 and a C-4 tranny. I am the second owner, I purchased it in Cranbrook in 1972. It became a race car in 1973 and drag raced with turbocharged 240/300 cu inchers all it's racing life. The original rear end is long gone and it has a 4:62 detroit locker 9" rearend in it now. My youngest son Dylan will be turning 15 soon and wants to build a 302 for it and make it his drag car now. I would like to ask you all to wish him GOOD Luck! Oh yes, and send money!! It is great to see so many Mavericks and Comets still on the road and on the track! Alan
Welcome to the board. Good luck to him. Lastly, If we had any money do you think we'd be driving Mavericks?
Welcome from Edmonton Welcome Alan. :HandshakeGood luck with the 302 build Dylan. That's what I have in mine, but it hasn't been raced yet. I'll let you know how it does. I'm not allowed at the steet leagals so I'll be joining the Freedom Ford Bracketeers at Castrol Raceway. Oh and I was going to send you some $$ but I just ran out, sorry.
Welcome from Vancouver Island...sounds like a nice car! Would love to see pics. I seen a Mave powered by a 300 with a 5-speed(as I seem to recall) about 8 or 9 years ago at Mission...was very very fast!
welcome abord those 300 are pretty good engines. if the car is already set up to handle one you might want to think about building another for it
