im running a 289 that we got from an old pro stock pinto with a big beefy cam, headers, aluminum heads, edelbrock performer intake, cal tracs, rancho shocks, mono leaf springs.....reduced some weight taken out rear and passenger seat, the huge front bumper, got rid of the sway bar to loosen up the front end, took out the carpet and insulation.........turning into a great car.... i gotta be careful not to break that twelve second barrier....ill keep you all posted as the year goes on, my next points race is on the 22nd of march for div 7 infineon....ill have more results b4 tht as well because our weekly wednesday night drags start up the first wednesday in march

    thanks
    kevin

Why are you afraid of busting the 12 second barrier. You can go 11.51 before you need a roll bar. Unless of course you have a convertable. I say, go for it!!

its not those safety specs....i am competing in the high school points for infineon and in hs you have to be slower than 12:rolleyes: after high school i will seriously play with the idea of going quicker, but i might want to stick in the sportsman category for a few years as well

    From Infineons website:
Kevin Neft of Petaluma put his 73 Maverick into the winners circle as a class win earned him the High School top award over a very determined Nikole D'Adamo of Napa and her B&G Tire backed 69 RS Camaro. Neft's better .029 RT to a .064 was the deciding difference going 12.74 (12.68) 106.69 to D'Adamo's fast closing 12.63 (12.59) at 105.90. Chris Simas of Napa in a 72 Chevelle earned a semi trophy for his efforts.

    Way to go Kevin!
