It will pump out 300 HP when we get done with a few changes,, The engine I have had for years,, has 30k miles on it,, been kept indoors all this time wrapped in shrink wrap,,,

That will be very cool. At the very least you will be making custom headers. At the worst you may have to shave the shock towers. I don't know if there is a front sump pan for those engines or not, but I know there are dual sump pans, so you should be able to work something out. I tried to drop a 3.8 from a '96 Mustang in my Maverick, and it was a no go. A 3.0 Vulcan from a '01 Ranger was a very nice fit though, if it weren't for that damn rear sump oil pan. The 3.0 is a 60 degree V6. Nice thing about the 3.8/4.2 is they have the SBF bell housing pattern. I'm seriously thinking about going with the Mustang II front end just so I can run the newer engines, most of which are strictly rear sump pans. The 2.3 Duratec 4 banger in the '01.5+ Ranger would be very nice in a daily driven Maverick, that would easily be a 30+ mpg hwy. car with 2/3 more power then then the old I6's.
