I am real sorry that I read this whole thread. I should've stopped with the carb stuff. There are some things a man of fine character (such as myself) doe not need to seed. An ostrich wearing argyle socks and house shoes is one of 'em.

I gotta keep anna off of here, she led this thread WAY astray.

Anyway, did you hear that a got a FREE aluminum driveshaft and 9" rear housing?

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have someone cut this down and make it fit?

in your first post ...you had stopped to see about getting your driveshaft balanced. did you get that info?
i priced a balance on my driveshaft...$450+ the guy said they are most likely twisted if they vibe.
a friend of mine did mine at his machine shop...FREE
you said that the "new" shaft was about 24" too long. i would suggest you cut about 6" from the bad yoke off and check the thickness of the shaft. if you remember the shaft i found... broke twice (2 burnouts). the wall thickness was too thin...:yup:

got to go...Fed-Ex lady just set my new aluminum radiator on the front porch!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, I just made the calls to my semi-local shops and had to leave a message, so didn't get a quote yet. Semi-local means 60 minutes drive or so...the bad thing about living out in the boonies...

What is good size wall thickness? I can cut it here and measure before I spend the money to have someone else do it and tell me it is too thin.

    GOOD LUCK WITH THE RADIATOR!!!
