Do they go on before the glass or can I have the glass installed then put them on later? These clips are for holding the trim on right?

yes, after the glass. sometimes there are or were little metal or plastic spacers that hold the windsheild up a little. I can take pictures of the ones I have if you don't know what they are. Did you get all the black stuff off yet?? Lots of fun!

I'll be working on it Sunday :bouncy:. The glass guy gave me a tip to use charcoal lighter fluid and it works. I will have plenty of rags and I quit smoking like 3 years ago :D.
I kinda felt like lighting up tho when I made the call to AK two minutes ago. $435:(! I bought the seal kit for the whole car, clips and same day shipping. :jumping:

Did you check with Tony @ RPS , his prices are better on that stuff.
As for the black stuff, I used varsol and my finger, I just kept ssticking my figer in it and pulling, messy but it was working, I had a black finger for a few days.

No I didn't check. I wasn't aware that there was another source for the kits.

How well did it work? If it got the job done than I wouldn't say "waste". Maybe spent more $, but you've got it done. I was going to use wd but he gave me the tip as I poked at the black gunk right after he pulled the glass. I guess I didn't get that great of a feal after all either cause I thought he was going to do the cleaning :16suspect.

Paint thinner works great, just don't get any on your dash.

Charcoal lighter fluid! or coal oil as it used to be called works great for cleaning all kinds of stuff.
