1) Craig, I know this should not be a problem, but Steve Moore and I were talking and how about having the track set the tree for the .400 pro light. That way there would be alot better racing, would not have to worry about redlights. 2) How about a couple plaques for the drag racing part of the event. Especially if we are gonna have a "burn-out contest". Maybe a couple awards for the racing as well. Cause you know, not all of us have show cars! 3)Also, saturday is a long day, maybe a few of us could bring a grill, if everyone would want to go together and buys some burgers, hotdogs and what not for lunch at the show. (you know I like to eat!) I know its still a long ways off, but it is winter and I have nothing better to do at work then to sit around and think about the round-up!
I will have to check with the track on the "tree". No go on the grill. Checked into that last year. Fire Marshall and hotel insurance won't allow it.
A cold cut tray is a good alternative for Saturday. The Fire Marshall can't object to that. Maybe a couple of the big sandwich rings from Subway? They're not expensive.
Just make a "road trip to the nearest McD's and everyone go thu the drive thru Poor kid at the window would have a heart attack Russ
Rules are rules but it's kinda weird that they won't let you grill out in a HUGE open field that is nothing but a power line right of way. They probably just want you to come inside and spend your money at there restaurant!! Guess we'll have to grill the burgers on the hot engines!!
What about getting the track earlier, normally track rent is for the day, could we get a few more hours in the afternoon at the same cost....I know that just gives me more time to break more wheel studs. Hey Craig if I can I will help with some racing awards? Todd
Man this is killing me. I'm going the All-Ford Nationals at Carlisle, I have a weekend trip with my truck club on July 4th weekend in Michigan, and then another on Aug.4th-8th in Indianapolis, the Round-up in July, a possible mini meet in NJ and the "Mavericks across America" How am I supposed to get anything done Guess I better put a new set of tires . Russ
I learned from Dennis to go to the roundup one day early. So we will arrive on wednesday. Wont be rushed on thursday, will be able to help setup, and best of all, one more night of bench racin!!!!!! Dan
I have already made my reservations to start Thursday night, but if enough people decide to go Wednesday, I will do the same. As far as grilling goes.......that sucks! (But all in all I think the hotel does a great job of leaving us alone and letting us do what we want......especially late at night when we start getting real redneck and loud!!) I big SUBWAY sounds good to me. Have you gotten any ideals for plans for Friday? Thanks for all you do Craig, you really put on a frist class event!
I will be there on Monday. Ha! I was also thinking of getting to the track a little earlier in the day as well. That is, if all of you can make it to New Castle earlier. Still working on Friday. Probably going to Knightstown. Still sitting up the activities that day. That night we will have an evening banquet....new location, better food and service. Watch your newsletters for more info.
I GOT IT !!!! I can bring a little solar oven, cooks using the power of the sun!! Throw a pizza in and three hours later it's cooked!!!!!
