    Hi All,

Has anyone ever converted to a hydraulic clutch? I'm interested in how you've done the pedal and master. I hate reinventing the wheel if it's already been done...

There is a kit you can buy to adapt your existing clutch pedal for the master cylinder. The kit should supply the master and the slave cylinder or hydraulic throw-out bearing along with the adapterand parts needed for your application.

Mustang supply houses sell a kit. Kinda pricy but I've been thinking of getting one for my Comet GT project just so I can use the shorty headers.

The type of slave cylinder will depend on the transmission too. If you're running a Toploader or any other trans with external shifter linkage, you'll need to use a hydraulic throwout bearing slave.

A friend of mine did a conversion on his t5 using a hydraulic throwout bearing/bearing retainer from a newer mustang v6. I believe it was from a 99-04 since those still use a t5. That way theres no external slave to get in the way of exhaust or anything else. I dont know for sure, but I think he used a master from an 80s Ford truck. I think almost anything would work tho.
