(east coast ROUND-UP) :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman Did anyone look into drag raceing at south moutain drag strip?

I just looked at my Maple Grove Raceway Schedule and it says that JUNE 4-5-6 is the Ford Motorsports Nationals.

Everyone driving in lookout for the horse and buggy's and have a safe ride. John

I'll be staying in my travel trailer. A friend of mine is going to be a vender. He and his wife are going to stay with me and my wife. He is going to tow my Maverick out behind his venders truck and I'll be bringing (hopefully) my new 5th wheel trailer. So I'll be camped at Carlisle all weekend. Russ

I would like to make it this year, and bring one of the Mavericks.
Sounds like it would be a good time, if we could get enough of us together.

I'm gonna have my knee reconstructed right before the show but I'll be there. Hopefully I can unveil my Grabber. Guess I better get a room now, I won't be able to camp.

I used the online services to find what rooms are around and not gouging the show patrons. I found one at a Super 8 about 6 miles away. Try using either Orbitz, Expedia, or Hotels.com.

If anyone wants to register to get their showfield passes in advance, it speeds up getting in the first day, you can register online at www.carsatcarlisle.com with a credit/debit card. Click on the "All Ford Nationals" and then "register".FYI for first timers, the weekend pass is $35. This gets you two admissions with one car. I did that last year and got through the registration desk pretty quickly. You stop at the desk just inside the gate and get your sticker and passes. You can pay there, but it speeds up the process to be registered in advance.

I guess we are the lucky ones. We just drive back home at the end of the day. We only live about a little more than an hours drive from Carlisle.:) Let us all hope and pray that the weather will be nice this year.

Takes me about 45 minutes each way. :)

I can't believe how cheap a weekend pass is! The WFC is like $20 a day per person, and is not worth the hype, unless you really like 5.0 mustangs. If Carlisle wasn't so dang far away, I'd make it for sure!

Don't know if I'll have a motor/rear in the car by then, but do intend on going to Carlisle and hope meet some of you from this message board!!! Carlisle is always so expensive though, we end up using up all the money we take along and all the money we can tap out of our bank account.

I hear it can be expensive "ladycomet"...one advantage I have is that my best friend lives a mile from the fairgrounds in Carlise. I'll be staying at his house! It will be my first trip.....anywhere with my car. By the way...is your 72 comet a GT? Oh yea....I am originally from Tyrone, Pa....and the wife from Altoona area....not far from you....look forward to meeting you and your husband!...............D Ray
