well i guess ill give a lil rundown on my maverick. its 1973 mav 2dr 302 v-8 c-4 auto. the car is primer black right now havnt decided on purple or black. the moter is built but having some issues with the performace. its bored .060 SRP forged pistons flat top pistons. im running a comp cam 280 magnum cam 512 512 lift 230 230 at .050. right now i have stock 302 heads that have been ported 1.94 1.60 valves and the heads have been milled down for higher compression screw in studs and guide plates with roller rockers. torker II intake with a 750 edlbrock carb. TCI street fighter stall converter. the car gos ok but its holding back. im not for sure why it is but it is. i have a few ideas. the best idea i have is in the heads. there a big cluster. i dont like theam. basicly they were some1 elses old heads. they were hogged out to a 64cc from a 58cc. so in order to get 9.5-1 we shaved the heads down. as i said somthing ant right for 1 it dont pull like it should 2 it dont seem to run right last but not least # 3 and 4 header tubes glow bright orange and yes its just those 2. ive been trought the basics 20 times at least! but feel free to give your opion. what im really looking for is information. i would like to hear what other people have tried and done. even better would be people who have done a simlor build. im looking at getting a new set of heads and a differnt intake. the heads im concidering are the dart iron eagle heads and a eldbrock rmp intake. so hit me back if you think you can help or contrubte i would love to hear from you.
Welcome to the board! Lots of good info here! What is the motor doing?..going flat early...misfiring? It may be heads..springs..fuel... carb..ignition...timing..or something else.. hard to tell without more info. Where is Maple Valley? Do you have any timeslips?
