i'd like to use the TFI distributor that i have for the roller motor that im putting in my '71. is anyone else running one? or have experience with these in their car? or just know how to wire one up?

i have some schematics that i found on the net but was just simply curious if i would have to use the PIP/spout for the TFI-style module to work. for some reason, i feel like im a pioneer in this.... :D

If you're trying to do this on a carbed motor, you're wasting your time. The TFI is controlled with the EFI computer.

:hmmm: Can't help you on that. Only place I've seen em run was on the EFI cars. Seen one used with a carb after the EFI was ditched, but although it worked, the timing didn't advance without the computer input.

You can run this but you will not have any advance. It is controlled by the ECM.A better one to run if you need the steel gear is the 85 mustang dizzy.

it can be done but you'll have to pick up a ignition box that's programmable so that you'll have an advance or retard. Otherwise you'll be cranking the motor against full advance and if the motor's got any nuts, there's a good chance to break the starter, flexplate, ring gear, bellhousing, etc when it kicks back.

    Good luck
