First of all I need to send out a big thanks to Pete aka. MavMan72 and Dave aka. Mean_Maverick for gathering up needed used sheetmetal that it's going to take to get this car back on the road. These guys are true enthusiasts and work quick to get the parts that you need. I look forward to meeting them both one of these days.:tiphat:

Now on to the weekend work. We had a semi-productive weekend with my parents and aunt and uncle up for the Englishtown Spring swapmeet. My dad helped me get the Maverick hood exchanged for the Comet hood and we figured out that the PO had thrown the brace away that the hood latch bolts to on the hood so we couldn't put the hood latch on. If anybody has one they want to part with, I would sure appreciate it. Also while were at it, added the Grabber rear decklid with spoiler that I scored about 15 years ago. I knew I would eventually get a car that I could use it on.

Also fixed a problem with the alternator not charging and car being hard to start. Problem in both cases was poor contact, ground for the voltage regulator and loose starter cable. If only everything was that easy to fix.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. Here are a couple of pics for your viewing pleasure. There are a few more pics in my gallery or better ones on my Cardomain page if anybody is interested. - Matt

Thanks, I've got the factory scoop but figured I would wait to drill the holes until the car gets ready for paint. Don't need any extra holes for water to penetrate :) That was half the work we did, as we changed out the grant steering wheel on the Falcon for a Sprint style and replaced the column mounted tach with a more factory looking style tach on the dash. All in all a good weekend. - Matt

I have one of those brackets you need, Just send me $5 to cover shipping cost and its yours. Or if you can wait till Carlisle, I can bring it for free. Or if you like road trips and need something else I might have, Your only about 2 1/2 hrs up the road from me. BTY, I have relatives in Point Pleasant.

Dennis that sounds pretty good. PM me your address or however you want payment made and I'll get it sent out. The PO's son drove the car with the Maverick hood without the latch and flew up and ruined an otherwise straight hood. The car came with two hoods and somehow the bracket was missing from both. He did however purchase a NOS hood latch. I guess it was easier to throw things away then unbolt them from the old panels. I get down that way every so often when I have to go to Ft. Belvoir or Meade for work. We also travel out your way when we go to visit my aunt and uncle in Falmouth, VA. We take the senic route as my wife calls it down 97 to 50 and 301. You got any good driver side fenders? If so I could use one as mine has rust in the bottom. Point Pleasant is pretty close. We have friends over in Brick and go over there and to the boardwalk all the time. - Matt

I should have the rest of the parts I bought by the end of this weekend. I know there are at least a half dozen fenders to get. I will let you know. If you want the bracket now, my address is:

You guys are a great team at finding the parts. I'm sure I'll need more help from you guys before this one is completed. - Matt
