I gave up on finding another Maverick after selling mine a few years ago one just fell into my lap. A buddy of mine told me about it and I got it for 600.00 It's nothing special, it is a Grabber though and was a V-8 car. It is just a rolling shell that needs the front seat recovered and some carpet. The dash is nice and the rear seat surrounds are like new. I learned the car sat in a repair shop for 13 years waiting on the owner to put an engine in it when his health went down. It is red with red interior. My question is...... everyone talks of putting Cleaveland heads on a 302, is it possible to put them on a 351 Windsor? I have a 70 351w from a cougar that needs heads and I have a set of 2bbl Cleaveland heads. I know the intakes are high dollar for the 302/351c head combo but have never heard of putting them on a 351w. If anyone knows the answer to this I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jerry

Jerry, sounds like a great find. I would think for the expense of putting the cleveland heads on the 351 (don't know if possible) that you could get a great set of aftermarket aluminum heads that would outperform the setup. Just my 2 cents though. - Matt

Jerry, there's not an intake (to my knowledge) for a setup like that and even if it were you would have to do serious shock tower modification to ever make it work. Remember, the 351W is wider than the 302 and the 302 is already pretty tight.

Yeah, I have started on a Mustang II front end already. I have done a few windsor swaps before and said if I ever did another I would go this route. So the part number metioned above is for a 351w with Cleaveland heads? If so I'm there dude!!!!!!!! well then I'll have to make a loan for the headers I guess!!!!!!

Cooooool, I found it on the website, I'll call Jegs tomorrow and see how much I can get it for. I have started taking the front suspension apart today getting ready for the Mustang II to go in, luckily I had all the parts already. I bought them to convert my old car over to do a 460 swap then sold the car without doing it. I sold the 460 and kept the rest. I found the 351w at a buddies house, the wife told him she was tired of motors and parts sitting all over the place so he gave it to me along with a new c-4 tranny. The motor has around 2500 miles on it since a 30 over rebuild. It has a lopey cam (do not know the specs yet) and forged flat tops with a pete jackson gear drive. I saw this engine run at the track a few years ago and it was crazy fast in a 71 Torino. The C-4 is built with heavy duty parts and billet servo. I had to haul scrap iron from his house for 4 days for the engine but I think it will be worth it.
