I think you're right...if you've got a complete V-8 (which I think you do judging from the other thread). I haven't done this myself though, so I'm not 100%. But for the price of that harness, it's worth picking up. (y)

i dont think that that is the complete harness. it is a truck harness not a car harness. so i would pass on it.

What would be on a car harness that is not on a truck harness? Remember we have very basic cars but I can't figure out what would be different

When I built my EFI conversion, I had a complete engine, 1988 model, which is a speed density system. I took a factory harness, cut all the plugs off leaving behind about 3 inches of wire to splice back into on each electrical componet. Then, went to fordfuelinjection.com and found a wiring shcematic, bought a roll of wire, built a loom to make a home made wiring harness. Once I learned the basic locations of each numbered wire position, it was a matter of time of running the wires, checking continutity and hooking up 2 wires,, key switch power and basic common ground. The fuel pump is the hard part,,, the return line, hooking up a twin fuel pump setup, and the upper plentumn hitting the shock tower braces made for custom tower brackets etc etc to miss the plentumn. So I opted to remove the entire EFI off my car and back to carburator. I just did not want to customize any of the original car to have EFI,,, any more than I had to,, and I got it to the point to where it was either time to build a shock tower cage, or simply go back to carb. I went back to carb. So, here I have all this EFI stuff, that I dont plan on putting back on,, and I have this home made harness made for speed density just sitting here!!! Ive ran it,, it ran fine, even had the check engine light!! But, lost interest in it. Learned alot,, and Id do it again to another car,, but not this one I got,,,,, Hope this helps a little,,, its not bad at all to build a harness,, Id be happy to show you how I did it.

I had decided to put a carb on mine too, but then I saw this , and had heard the complete harness was kind of expensive, well it turns out he wants $100 for it,

I know nothing about automotive wiring so I look at all that efi stuff and my brain starts to melt,

I think I will stick to plan and go carb, plus it'll be kinda fun taking off all that stuff and getting it down to a simple motor, anyone know if It would be able to sell that stuff?

EFI can be done really easy now a days, but its pretty expensive for bolt and go kits from FAST,edelbrock,retrokspeed......

Then why did he list it for .01 with no reserve? Ebay auctions are binding agreements. :16suspect

Yes, you should be able to sell the stuff - maybe someone here on the board wants to do an EFI conversion. :dancing:

thats a "engine harness" you still need the harnes that goes to the computer. thats a older harness also as i can tell by the plugs. circa 86. the easy way to do efi i is get a mustang 5.0 doner car. then you get all the little things like relays and sensors.
