Well, I took the maverick out today and when I got back I felt something was amiss. The car was running fine, I thought I was just being paranoid. But when I looked at the bottom of my driveway I saw two streaks of liquid on the asphalt. I couldn't detect a smell from either of them. I looked up the road and there was no further evidence of any liquid. I couldn't find any in the driveway either. I looked under the car after I parked it and I couldn't see a drip mark or anything, but when I looked under the hood I saw a wet spot at the back of the block on the drivers side. I didn't smell anything weird, either- just normal hot engine smell. What the heck is going on?

Well you could run the car and check for leaks at the suspect location.clean the spot off and then run it and see what happens.Or take it for a ride then park it and put a big piece of cardboard under it.Check it the following morning and see where the spots are(if any) in relation the engine. The spots may be from another vehicle and not from yourse at all.Good luck. Also check your fluids and see whats low.

Whenever I get a free moment I'll try those things. I think it was water that was on the car somewhere that ran out when I left the driveway. this morning the streaks were gone so it had to be water that evaporated when I was asleep. I got a big laugh out of "clean the spot off" by the way. My blocks got the gunks right now.

I'm positive that the streaks on the road were water. Like I said in my post above this one, it evaporated in the night. I didn't get a look at what it was on the block under the hood but I'm almost positive it was rain. I have cracks in my gasket at the back of the hood. You know, the rubber part in front of the cowl? I need a new one of those. I'm going to clean up that part that was wet last night, run the engine and see what happens later today. I think I'm just being overly cautious and a bit paranoid, but can you really blame me?

Better to be paranoid than broke down on the side of the road and walking home...

Bet it's just rainwater that found a collection point, then leaked out when you stopped.

That's what I'm thinking. Especially due to the fact it evaporated.

Update: I haven't had time to check anything mostly because it won't stop raining.

I told him it was water considering the back seals around the window are letting water into the trunk. i figured that it was water from the trunk that he couldn't get out. is it a thing with all males or just mine that wont listen to me? lol:rofl2:

We as males tend to dismiss anything told to us by someone else. That is why we can't stop for directions - what is the point if we are just to dismiss it after getting the directions?
