Good morning all, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Jori and I am the announcer at Thundermountianraceway here in Kelowna, BC. Hubby and I are in the process of building a 65 caliente drag car. We are so close to being completed, the only thing stopping us is the darn chassis mounts.
    Let the fun begin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    chassis mounts

65 comet caliente, we picked up a sweet lil ole 289, but are having troubles getting it to mount.........shock towers look as though they have been banged flat, possibly to fit a straight six (??) any suggestions?
    Thanks

if the car used to have a straight 6 your going to need to change out the motor mounts that are sitting at the bottom of the shock towers to get a V8 in. that may be your issue

who knew all i woulda had to do was type mercury forums,,,,,,,,,,,gawd i love this place.... can anyone suggest where i can put all the chrome for the 65 for advertisement? We are keeping as strictly a drag car, so no need for the chrome. Its all there every last little bit of it. have 2 sets of mounts now, (helps when u work next to a pick yard, and a NAPA (lol) will try those out when i get home. Talk to ya all in the morning.
    Nice to meet ya :Handshake:clap:

Definitely need to put the chrome on eBay. Should be a good demand for it. The better the demand...higher the price! :)
