What are you painting the dash pieces with? It looks great.

    I really like this too...

I used Duplicolor "Truck-Van-SUV" trim paint, number "T90 Univ. Black Metallic" on the rear tail light panel, as well as the lower dash. It has a little more metallic than the original interior dash unit, but I ran out of time and it's going to be close enough. If I had more time, I'd order this, which was suggested by Maverick1970.

I really like the black-out on the rear. One of the nicest big bumper cars I have seen! Good work.

Thanks, I think it will all come together when I get the vinyl roof dyed black and change the body side molding to black as well. Odd that the former owner went with brown trim when the interior was black....?

    Progress Update...

Finally got back at it, the poor Maverick seems like it's been on the back burner this summer. Had a busy weekend though, focused on dying the vinyl top black with SEM Color Coat. Everything "was" going well on the re-dye project I decided to do on Saturday. We had some storms blow through, and I almost did not proceed for concern of loosing power. However I went ahead with it. I've not used a automotive spray gun for 20 plus years, so it took a little work to get it set up (still not sure I had it right). Anyway, I was pleased with my progress, everything was looking good and I was on my last and final coat, when half way through, I ran out of paint! Damn, no stores were open, and you only have a 24 hour window to re-coat. Well, I was pretty upset, I was so close to finishing...

Yesterday I picked up another qt. of color coat and re-painted the top last night... without issues. Now things are starting to match and look good together (black trim to go with the black interior). Hoping to get everything done (new black side molding and pin stripes) in time for this weekends "Dream Cruise" in Detroit. Burning the midnight oil....

Hey, thanks everyone for the encouragement. Last night I got the new body side molding put on (didn't take any pics), and tonight I'll get the pin stripping installed. Then the car is pretty good to go for now. In a few years I'd like to get it painted (when funds are more available) and maybe then I'll remove the vinyl top and side molding...
