I didn't get to actually go to the grounds until Sunday so I am certain that over half of the cars and vendors the were there were prolly already packed up and gone but man-o-man what an awesome time.

I got really luck and got to park in a guy's back yard right next to gate 2 I mean literally I got out of the van and walked maybe 50 yards and was inside the gate. For $10 none the less.

Had a great time. Seen Killer Comet and Michelle there, they are very nice people and another guy that recently joined MCCI his name was Dave Hunt.... Very Very nice Grabber he has. Also seen several other very nice Mavericks and Comets including a nice driver that a guy had there for sale it is a 72 Comet with a brand new 250 (crate motor), Ceramic coated headers, T-5, A/C and the whole 9. Body needs some work but man what a nice daily drive it would be with that 250, A/C and a T-5. I got a couple pics I will upload inthe next day or two. The guy said he is coming to sign up at the board because he is looking for the LDO trim to put back on the car to fill in the holes where the original trim was taken of.

Anyway I am already making plans to go back next year and be there for mor than just Sunday. I relaly enjoyed the experience.

I was still impressed with the amount of cars, the variety of cars and the amount and variety of the vendors that were still there Sunday. I can only imagine what it was like Friday and Saturday. Guess I will have to wait until next year to find out. I may go to the big Fall event as well. We'll have to see how that pans out with some other stuff I have going on.

It looks like this time maybe the heat had an effect on the sales instead of rain. None of the vendors seemed to have had a very good weekend. Of course most of the people spent all their money on gas to get there!

[I can't be accused of bringing rain with me to Carlisle this time]:D!

That's what happened Doug brought that nasty Texas heat up here with him..LOL hahaha

Doug you should have known you would get blamed one way or the other.

I tried to stop by and say hello to you and Mr. Mavaholic, but I guess you were either already headed home or you were out and about at the show.

It was around 9:00 Sunday morning I was over in the Camping area to see if I could find you guys but wound up running into Killer Coment and Michelle instead. I was lucky to get to meet a couple nice Maverick/Comet people this weekend

Dennis and I took off late Saturday night. Sorry we missed you!

It really looked like everyone was folding up shop Saturday afternoon, so we figured we'd head back to Crownsville.

Even the attendance at the bikini contest:eek: and burnout contest seemed a little small.

Sorry we missed you too. We normally are there both Saturday and Sunday, but the combined cost of gas and the sweltering heat closed the door on that idea. I did a quick stroll through a few rows of vendors and there didn't seem like there were too many people checking out parts. I wanted to see more, but the heat was too much. I think the best selling item on Saturday was ice water.

I went to the Ford show at Carlisle on saturday. Mainly went with my sons to checkout parts for his 2007 Mustang GT. Did send a little time looking for Comets and Mavericks, in particular my old 72 Comet GT. Found a group of Comets/Mavericks on the hill in the afternoon. Took a few pictures of the cars. Really liked seeing the Spirit package again. The interior was much better looking than I remembered. Did see the ol' Comet, I figured it was sent to the scrapyard after it was on ebay a couple years ago and appeared to be a rust bucket.

Still looking at the Grabbers, maybe I'll get one for my youngest son in a few years. His nickname is Grabber, what else should he drive.

Keep the forum going it is nice to peek in from time to time.

    Feel free to stick around....

You can see even MORE Mavericks and Comets in your home state of Virginia this summer as the Maverick Comet Club International, Inc. will be holding their 15th Annual Roundup Nationals in Dulles, Virginia the last weekend in July. Check out the details at: www.maverickcometclub.org

    Wow a celebrity near Carlisle!

Ron Jeremy must have been looking for that Amazon Woman Nick saw last year on the way home from Carlisle!:D

Craig: So you really aren't kidding about seeing Ron Jeremy?

I thought you were pulling our legs [not just the crab's legs];)
